Bioethanol is currently the best solution for dealing with the environmental problems we are facing. The emission of greenhouse gases coming largely from fossil fuels is the cause of gradual global warming, which could result in the average temperature being between two and four degrees higher in 2050 than it is now.

Bioethanol not only drastically reduces greenhouse gas emissions, but its production provides employment in rural areas, allows countries to gain greater independence from oil, increases energy diversification, and ensures the fuel supply. report abuse

Bioethanol production is highly problematic; it is certainly not 'sustainable' in the manner claimed in this misleading video.

Here's some light reading on the subject: http://www.oilcrash.com/articles/pf_bio.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Issues_relating_to_biofuels We certainly need to find alternatives, like solar, wind, oceanic hydro, etc., but biofuels should *not* be amongst them unless they're truly from waste oils, etc. We also need to cut down our consumption dramatically, given that there is *no* solution that can viably replace the energy density of fossil fuels. report abuse

Biofuels usually take more energy to make than they provide, threaten food secuity, take vast amounts of land to produce and do nothing to ensure long-term energy supply given the obvious fact that you're burning massive amounts soil-destroying monocrops to maintain an essentially unsustainable infrastructure.
I'm sure you have PR to address my points; I've also got more points (and data) to adress your PR ;-)
