 A NEW air quality monitoring station was launched in Mossel Bay at the weekend.This station will measure the levels of pollution in the area for the next year.
Western Cape Environmental Affairs MEC Pierre Uys said the data would be used to assist local authorities and the provincial government in making decisions about air quality control. He said feedback to local municipalities, industry leaders and the community was necessary as there was too little emphasis on health issues resulting from problems with industrial waste, air and water quality management.
