The surveyors-general agreed with an order set by the Cape High Court which was later upheld by the Supreme Court of Appeals this year. The order set aside the development rights of Kassie Wiehahn the owner. Wiehahn started this battle 13 years ago in 1996, this has been the longest and most expensive development battle in the history of South Africa. Magmoed Limbada of the Mazaar Society said yesterday: "We're elated. We've been involved in this since 1996 and we're jubilant that the development won't happen."
