| Solar taxi makes it home | |
The Swiss inventor Louis Palmer has arrived in his hometown of Root in Switzerland after his 17 month promotion for climate friendly technology. He completed a round the world trip without using any fuel in his solar powered two seater taxi which pulls its solar cells behind it in a trailer.
Whilest on his travels Palmer stated on Thursday that he estimates he picked up around 1000 passengers, including the US talk show host Jay Leno, Ban Ki-moon the UN Secretary General and Larry Hagman the former Dallas star. Due to Louis Palmers strict zero carbon rule he has set up solar panels in Bern the Swiss capital that feed the electricity grid ensuring he can still charge his batteries and not break his rule.
