BENDING THE CURVEThis locally-produced book aims to educate and inform South Africans about climate change and how to deal with it. Featuring an impressive array of experts, thought leaders, industry and business consultants and other involved parties, this book is thorough and well thought through.  It is also relentless in driving home the points that climate change is real, that it constitutes a major challenge not just to South African government and business, but to each one of us, rich and poor, and that there are many levels at which the problems, challenges and opportunities presented by climate change can and must be addressed. It ranges widely across environmental and business issues to socio-economic and political ones, each of them centred on the climate change conundrum. What is pleasing is that most of the contributions focus on mitigation and what we can do to off-set, reduce and counter-act the various forces and processes that collectively contribute to climate change. Overall, excellent work, this one should be included in everyone's primary reading on the dimensions and aspects of the climate challenges that face us as South Africans, and how we can go about dealing with them proactively and constructively.
