“ Make the Environment Better ”

a Month of Soccer Spirit we all have screamed make ,: “ Make the circle bigger ”. The 2010 Soccer World Cup is finished and we have to go back to our business of protecting the environment. The ordinary man heard words likes reduction of carbon footprints , integrated public transport and waste recycling. The host cities proclaimed the scoring of green goals for a better future. I look at how  the ordinary man  scored green goals during the world cup. We all have experienced the fan walks were people walked for miles talking and just having fun. The lesson here is that walking is fun and relaxing and that we can  explore more than driving in our vehicles. The forgotten open public spaces came into play  again  giving us the best photo opportunities ever. Lastly the ordinary man has come into contact with various recycling bins for our waste showing the importance of separation at source. As South Africans scoring all this green goals can we take it further ? The new challenges for Africa by 2015 is reaching the millennium development goals. We are all particularly interested in goal number 7 which focus on ensuring environmental sustainability. The questions remains is it possible to reach this goal 7 in South Africa by 2015 ?  Secondly can we as South Africans  continue making the environment better beyond 2010 ! ”.
